Pastor Charles Jenkins Sr.

The “Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord”. (Luke 4:18-19)

Pastor Charles Jenkins has been ministering the Word of God for more than twelve years. He is anointed to minister, teach, and facilitate workshops, conferences and retreats that challenge believers to new levels of spiritual discipline and growth in their walk with the Lord. In 1996 Minister Jenkins entered into the study of the Ministry of Gilgal found in the Book of Joshua 5:8-9. During several years of Bible study and consecrated time with the Lord, the Holy Spirit walked him through the Ministry of Gilgal. During that time God birthed the ministries of healing and deliverance into his life. In January of 2000 Minister Jenkins became a student at Share-A- Prayer and Word Theological Seminary and School of Ministry under the instruction of Apostle Dr. Pernell H. Hewing, where he began seeking a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ and understanding the spiritual authority of God by the leading of the Holy Spirit. . In August of 2001 he was licensed under Share-A-Prayer Holy Spirit Ministries and Sanctuary Outreach Ministries, Inc. by Apostle Dr. Pernell H. Hewing, founder and director. On June 25, 2000 he was license by Pastor Eugene Roberson of First Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church in North Chicago to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. On September 9, 2006 he was ordained by Pastor Eugene Roberson.

Charles is a native of New Orleans Louisiana. He graduated from Alcee Fortier Sr. High School in 1982. Shortly after graduating from high school he enlisted in the United States Army where he served for 14 years. After receiving a Honorable Discharge he attended Southern Illinois University, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Management, he received his Associates degree from the College of Lake County and Masters Degree in Education from Liberty University in May 2009. He is the devoted husband to Neisa R. Jenkins a native of Waukegan, Illinois. He is the father of Kamara Victoria, Charles Isaiah Jenkins and Charles Jenkins Jr.

Charles is a man of God who has been called, appointed, and anointed by God. He has been called into the five-fold ministry to release the prophetic, apostolic anointing to the body of Christ under the authority of Jesus Christ by the leading of the Holy Spirit. His desire is to see the five-fold ministry gifts recognized in the Body of Christ.

He developed and led a weekly ministry called, “Gilgal Prayer Ministry”, which brought forth true Ministers of God that are able to walk in wholeness, in healing, with a holy boldness in the Power of God. He also developed and taught a curriculum which was designed to impart, instruct and equip new believers’ in the Body of Christ; that they may become established, mature front line soldiers prepared “to fight the good fight of faith” and to “stand strong in the power of God’s might.” Minister Jenkins continues to teach the word weekly to inmates through the Gilgal Prison Ministry. This miraculous ministry has touched thousands of lives.

As a yielded vessel of the Lord, Pastor Charles Jenkins continues to move with great sensitivity to the Spirit of the Lord as he ministers the Word in Power. It is his sincere desire and the call on his life to establish believers in God’s Word and to see the fulfillment of Luke 4:18-19 made manifest in the lives of God’s people.
